NHRA Maple Grove Speedway

John Force

John Force's funny car.

Tony Schumacher, above won in the car below.
This was a challenge to photograph cars going over 300 mph, a really fast shutter speed along with panning and continuous shooting helps.

Last Three Days of November

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving! Who could ask for anything more, lots of food, fun, and family. Well, the last 3 days of November I will just be recaping some favorite photos I took this past year, that haven't already been on my blog. In December, I will have nothing but Christmas stuff. As you can see I am in the middle of changing how my blog looks.

Today will be animals! The deer in our backyard, The one ducking to look at me under the apple tree is a buck.

One of the first days off this summer I went for a drive to Hanover Shoe farms an took some photos of the new foals.

The bear in the campground, the photo I thought I never got. I saw some people walking and looking at something while we were sitting outside at the campground, when I looked around I saw the bear, quick got the camera from inside the camper and then looked for it an snapped away. After it was o longer in sight I remembered the camera was set for a fast shutter speed because I was shooting in bright sunlight earlier, when I reviewed the photos it was nothing but black, I kept them on the camera and downloaded them when we got home. I could tell there was something there and started experimenting with the editing program and found the bear!

Big Ten Champions

JoePa gets to the locker room first to see the Big Ten Chanpionship Trophy. These photos were taken of the jumbotron across the field.

After the presentation, the team took the trophy outside to the fans, students first.
We left cause it was really cold, sure to be warmer in Pasadena!

The Game

Here are some photos of the game, begining, middle and end. I don't take that many during the game, I rather just watch.
It started snowing while the team was warming up, but this was the worst when the band started to come out on the field, see the Nittany Lion. Remember we are sitting in the upper deck in the north end zone, so this is all the way over on the south end zone.
Senior day, so they annouced all the senior players, this is #3 Dion Butler.

This is the band formation as the whole team comes on the field. Note the snow on the firld and the band has it foot prints from doing the pregame show.

The Press box, the weather is clear now.

This is down at our end zone, Clark has the ball.

Touch down Penn State, one of the three touchdowns by Butler, #3 had 3 touchdowns, he caught 3 passes for a total of 133 yards for the game,

Game over, some team members with the Rose Bowl flag.

A prayer with the Michigan state team before heading back to the locker room for the presentation of the Big Ten Championship trophy. More tomorrow....

The Trip to Penn State

We left the campground at noon on Saturday. As usual traffic was backed up on 322, it usually is moving slowly but today it was standing still. We waited about 5 minutes and some people were getting out of their cars to talk to people get refreshments etc. Dave thought we might be able to go the long way around, over the mountain. So off we went on a snow covered dirt road. It was beautiful, snowing all the way. The following are some photos I took from the car, through the window.

The first three are in black and white, I think most snow photos are better in B&W

This is my favorite, in color.

An Amish Farm closer to the end of trip, I think my fotofriend DMW, from Hanging on the Laundry Line is going to like this!!

Love the icicles hanging off the cabin, a man was looking out another window as we drove by, I did get Dave to stop for this photo, I took a quick shot waved to man, he smiled and waved back!I'll have some football photos tomorrow.
