Fall Snow Continued

As we drove into State College, the snow diminished some and was lightly raining.

The Iron Horse Sculpture at the Harley Davidson dealership.

Beaver Stadium as we turned onto Rt 26 to go to park at Walmart.
Once we parked, a short walk to the bus stop we boarded "The Football Express"

This was taken on the way up the ramp looking northeast

We waited some around the concession stands then we went to our seats, the snow was removed from the seats but not the floor area.

Whitney wasn't cold at all!

The student section and the southeast corner, the game started before the students showed up.

The second half kickoff.

We left the game a little early to beat the crowd back to the buses. The shuttle bus service worked very well.

Fall Snow Fall in PA

Our trip to Penn State was delayed till Saturday morning because of snow in the Seven Mountains area of Centre Co. We were worried about the campground being out of electric and road conditions at night. Saturday morning as we got close to Lewistown we started seeing the white stuff.

Laurel Creek just past the reservoir, you can see Rt 322 on the left hand side of the pic, in the next pic is the traffic backed up at that spot.

The traffic gets backed up because in about 2 or 3 miles the 2 lanes west turns into 1 lane. This is where the rain turned to snow.

The Mifflin Co. sign at the border with Centre Co.

The sign for the Seven Mountains Campground ahead to the left!

Here is the white and wonderful wildwood camper!

Dave getting the door unlocked

Inside I was getting lunch warmed up! I took a quick pic through the camper window of Whitney taking a pic of Dave measuring the snow, about 10 inches on the picnic table.
I'll have some more pics later....

The Game

Here are some photos of the game, begining, middle and end. I don't take that many during the game, I rather just watch.
It started snowing while the team was warming up, but this was the worst when the band started to come out on the field, see the Nittany Lion. Remember we are sitting in the upper deck in the north end zone, so this is all the way over on the south end zone.
Senior day, so they annouced all the senior players, this is #3 Dion Butler.

This is the band formation as the whole team comes on the field. Note the snow on the firld and the band has it foot prints from doing the pregame show.

The Press box, the weather is clear now.

This is down at our end zone, Clark has the ball.

Touch down Penn State, one of the three touchdowns by Butler, #3 had 3 touchdowns, he caught 3 passes for a total of 133 yards for the game,

Game over, some team members with the Rose Bowl flag.

A prayer with the Michigan state team before heading back to the locker room for the presentation of the Big Ten Championship trophy. More tomorrow....

The Trip to Penn State

We left the campground at noon on Saturday. As usual traffic was backed up on 322, it usually is moving slowly but today it was standing still. We waited about 5 minutes and some people were getting out of their cars to talk to people get refreshments etc. Dave thought we might be able to go the long way around, over the mountain. So off we went on a snow covered dirt road. It was beautiful, snowing all the way. The following are some photos I took from the car, through the window.

The first three are in black and white, I think most snow photos are better in B&W

This is my favorite, in color.

An Amish Farm closer to the end of trip, I think my fotofriend DMW, from Hanging on the Laundry Line is going to like this!!

Love the icicles hanging off the cabin, a man was looking out another window as we drove by, I did get Dave to stop for this photo, I took a quick shot waved to man, he smiled and waved back!I'll have some football photos tomorrow.
