Apple Harvest Brochure

You all might remember I won a photo contest last year for the Apple Harvest Festival, well a couple of weeks ago while we were at the south mountain fair I saw a AHF brochure in a 4-H display and thought I wonder if they used my photo? I carefully took it out of the display and looked.... they did!! And I gently put it back into the display. Now, where can I find one, I looked around the fair (it is on the same grounds as the AHF) but did not find any. So this weekend we went on an orchard hunt in Adams co. and at the second orchard we found them!!!

The Outside
And the Inside... there it is and even my name!!

Now, this same photo will be entered in the still life category at the York fair in a couple of weeks, maybe another ribbon, I doubt it but who cares!

Here is the link about it in January.

Oh, by the way inside it says admission to the AHF is $9.00 I can't believe it. It has been over ten years since I was even there and then it was 5 or 6. I was a vendor so I got in free.

NHRA Maple Grove

As soon as we got there Dave saw John Force on his scooter, I thought I missed him but he turned around.
Opening ceremony

In the pit, one of John Force's cars

A Real Motor Head!

Top Fuel

Funny Cars

Motorcycles

John Force red lighted in the third round, his daughter Ashley DQ'd in the first round due to her car was to light. It was a very hot day and a long day with the race delayed 3 hours due to track conditions. It had rained the night before and now the water was seeping up through the track. We left after John red lighted.

Clock

The clock was thought of when we were shopping for the chair and a half, Breanne went along and while we were waiting for the salesperson we wondered around the store. I had said that I wanted a big and different clock and that I saw some photo clocks but they were to modern for me. Breanne had said that she saw a neat clock that had no numbers that she thought was interesting but was modern as well. So she said something about a numberless clock and hang photos around it. So after some research on the web I found this clock with no numbers from a clock parts website and bought 12 cheap frames from the dollar store, and tada....

After I got the clock I decided that 5x7 frames would work best and then just place 4x6 photos in them. I have plans to change the photos as time goes on! I first arranged them on the floor.
Then we made a template on the dining room table and placed everything where we needed it, measurement was key.

Then the paper went on the wall and the nails went in.

I placed the photos with no glass, with black photo corners so they can be easily changed.
I would like to eventually find old photo frames and change them so they all will be different.

Mirror

Here is a better photo of the mirror that I bought from my sister-in-law's, Mother. I added the gold vinyl Letter P for an update.

Living Room, Dining Room Switcheroo!

As you may know I started this project right as soon as school was over for the summer and now I am days away from going back to work. The painting is finished the switch is complete, some new (and not so new) things were bought, some items were reused, some new ideas were created.

This was the dining room the wall with the quilt hung here, now a unique clock I created along with the help of David and Breanne. More about that in a later post. The chair and a half and ottoman are from Value City Furniture.

Here is the view looking at the front door. The wall color is a light green.

The very comfy sofa from Ashley Furniture.

The Shawnee collection stayed where it was along with the old door corner shelf. Dave moved the dining room light to the other side of the room.

View from the other end looking to the sun room.

And the last photo is out the front window (this is where the TV cabinet was), the curtains are from JC Penney. I found the rods at a flea market still in the packaging. I think this was the first time I ever purchased curtains, I didn't even look for fabric, maybe next time.
I really like the new floor plan, I think this is the way it was supposed to be. When we built the house I think I switched it and now swithched it back. I never got the blueprints out to check for sure though. Well anyway, We can always switch it back!!!

Doan's Bones and Ice Cream Cones

Doan's Bones and Ice Cream Cones had 3 locations and one was close to where our camper is at Seven Mountains Campground, but it closed up. So we headed out to the one on the west side of State Collage, only taking the scenic route.
This is me! photo taken by my sister in law Joyce at Allen Seeger State Park. We also went thru Rothrock State Park and Whipple Dam State Park.
Arriving at Doan's is a cheerful pig! I think he wants everyone to eat chicken!

The outside of Doans it is small but so cute to dine in or on the front porch.

This is the pulled pork sandwich I had! Every thing is homemade even the chips! I took a picture of my brothers Dam Fish Sandwich but it got accidentally deleted, It was really big and had a delicious Cajun tartar sauce. I will get that the next time. The very nice young gentleman who waited on us told us they got boot out of the Old fort location, because the property was sold to Sheetz.
